Jonas Nefzger grew up in the German state of Bavaria, in a small town south of Munich. His nature-filled surroundings as a child continue to have a strong influence on his love for nature today. He received his first camera from his parents when he was nine years old, during a family journey through the USA. Both have an influence on him today: Jonas cannot get enough of photography and travelling.
After completing his schooling, Jonas participated in an internship at the renowned company Dedo Weigert Film, where he was trained as a high-speed camera technician and handled still life photography. In the year to follow, he set off on a journey around the world with the aim to apply the photography knowledge he had gained and to discover both his talent and his passion: putting a focus on people in a genuine, natural and dynamic way.
Once back at home, he began to assist various photographers. To expand his horizons, he studied cartography and geomedia technology during this time. After completing these studies, he focused completely on photography. Bit by bit, Jonas built up his portfolio based on his fascination for interesting people, landscapes and stories. He also likes to include his great passion for outdoor sports in his photography.
Jonas lives with his family in Munich.
